The 1861 Canada Census lists several families identifying as "Christian Brethren", which is thought to have been an open brethren assembly in Barnston, Stanstead, Memphremagog, Estrie, Southeast Quebec, Canada. Also see Stanstead Christian Brethren, QC which was active at the same time.
