Vivian Helen Osthoff
Vivian Helen Osthoff was born March 3, 1921 to Edward Osthoff and his second wife Frances. She was born within three years of her parents being led to Christ by Oliver Garfield Smith, and therefore would have grown up around Clayton Gospel Hall, IA from the beginning. She was saved in June 25, 1970 in Garnavillo. Vivian never married, and died Oct. 6, 1988 in Garnavillo, IA in fellowship with Garnavillo Gospel Hall, IA.
Truth and Tidings (Dec. 1988) reported her obit: "Vivian Osthoff of Garnavillo, Iowa on Oct. 6, age 67. Our dear sister was born at Clayton, Iowa on March 3, 1921. She moved to Garnavillo in 1970 and was saved on June 25 of that year. She was received into fellowship at the Garnavillo assembly, where she continued faithfully as long as she was able.
In March, 1987, she had surgery for cancer from which she never fully recovered. The funeral in the Garnavillo Gospel Hall was taken by Paul Elliott with Henry Wahls speaking at the graveside. "
