William Francis C. Brathwaite

William Francis C. Brathwaite was born July 22, 1870, the son of Francis Horne Brathwaite, a doctor, (b. 1840) and Anne M. Warren Brathwaite (1840-1913). He had three siblings:

Brethren influence

William's parents were initially members of the Church of England, but had joined with the Brethren by 1881. William served in leadership with the Winnipeg Meeting Room from 1903 to 1908, and his nephew Frank Wesley Bingham Brathwaite served this same assembly 1944-1962.

Descendants

William and Kathleen's first son was born Nov. 15, 1900, Francis Theodore Trigge Brathwaite. He died at the age of eight, on Jan. 12, 1909.

Their first daughter was born in 1906, Kathleen Warren Brathwaite. She married John Rupert Hearle (b. 1876), an accountant, and by 1930 were living in Pasadena, California. She died April 11, 1999 in San Luis Obispo, California. They had three children:

  • Edward Francis Rupert Hearle (1931-2018) was born in Pasadena, California, earned his AB in 1952 from Occidental College, and a Masters in Public Administration in 1954 from UCLA. He served as assistant to the city administrator of the City of Covina, California (1956-1959), an analyst for the Rand Corporation (1959-1965), service director for Griffenhagen Kroeger in San Francisco (1965-1966), an office director for the U.S. Government (1966-1967), and senior vice-president of Booz Allen & Hamilton (1967-1992). He also served as a consultant for the United Nations in New York (1964-1970). He was listed as a noteworthy management consultant by Marquis Who's Who.

Edward also served with the U.S. Army (1954-1956), as president of the Westminster Presbyterian Retirement Corporation (1985-1992), director of "The Gathering" (2003-2005), was a member of the Jacksonville (FL) Symphony Association (1998), Jacksonville Community Council (1998), and on the board of directors for Trinity International University (1998) and serving as chairman (2000).

He married Patricia Ann Woodbridge in 1958, and they had three children, and died Jan. 23, 2018 in Shady Grove, Maryland, and is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery.

  • Warren John Hearle (1937-2007) was born in Los Angeles, CA, and married Darlene Irene Mensinger in 1956, they had four children, and were divorced in 1981. Warren died in Salem, Oregon.
