==Birth==
Lawrence William Dehn was born on August 23, 1898 at Clayton, Iowa, the son of John Andrew Dehn, and [[Flora Katherine Haltmeyer Dehn]]. He spent part of his childhood in Guttenberg. His father was born in Iowa, and his mother in Minnesota.

==Rebirth==
Lawrence's mother was responsible for inviting [[Oliver Garfield Smith]] to hold initial Gospel meetings in Clayton, and later in Garnavillo. She had been previous saved at meetings at [[Manchester Gospel Hall, IA]] in 1909.

He accepted Christ on January 4, 1918 in Clayton, IA preceding the start of [[Clayton Gospel Hall, IA]] at Gospel meetings held by [[Oliver Garfield Smith]]. He was associated with the Clayton meeting, and for a few years at [[Waterloo Gospel Hall, IA|Waterloo Gospel Hall]].

==Marriage==
On Jan. 2, 1929, Lawrence married [[Gordia Olive Eleanor Mayland Dehn|Gordia Olive Eleanor Mayland]] in Nashua, IA. Gordia was born in Peterson, Minnesota on June 9, 1905, the daughter of Gordon Morris Mayland (1881-1943) and Cora Erickson Mayland (1881-1926) living then in Fountain, MN. Their wedding was witnessed by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peterson, and performed by J.L. McGarson Jr.

1931-1935, they were living in Waterloo, IA. Between 1936 and 1940, they moved from Waterloo to Clinton, IA, then eventually back to Waterloo. They had no children.

==Occupation==
As a young single man, he worked as a laborer in a saw mill in Clayton. At the time of his wedding he was a farmer, and later as a manager.



==Death and Funeral==
In later life he lived at 218 Columbia St., Waterloo, IA. He died Sept. 8, 1950, at the age of 52.  Oliver Smith and E.G. Matthews spoke the Word at the funeral.  

Survivors included two brothers, Elmer and Weber, both of Manchester, IA; three sisters: Mrs. A.A. Bush and Miss Esther Dehn, both of Miami, FL; and Mrs. Henry Ramsey of Clark, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Gordia died on Oct. 6, 1994 in Waterloo, IA.
