There have been many exclusive brethren meeting rooms in Des Moines, Iowa, the root of which was started in 1880 by Alexander Hume Rule (1843-1906) who relocated there from the Vinton Meeting Room in Iowa where he had moved in 1873 after brief service for the Scottish Presbyterians in the 1860's in Egypt, where he became convicted thru the writings of William Kelly over the imminent return of Christ, and the rapture of the saints, which promoted his departure from the Presbyterians.
In 1890, some split to become Raven (PBCC) brethren, and this page traces the one that in 1909 became associated with the TW's, and remained as such until 2004, when there was a division, and some aligned with Pella Meeting Room, IA for several years, while others started an independent meeting. There is presently a small meeting of brethren in a home in Pleasant Hill that meets independently, as well as Oakwood Assembly Meeting Room, IA, also meeting independently. This assembly met many years on Buchanan Street in Des Moines.
