- Witness 1897-4: New Scotland (N.Y.?: John Martin: "I left home in December last in view of being present at Boston and Philadelphia Conference. The attendance was larger than that of previous gatherings. The ministry, as a whole, was of a stirring, refreshing, and establishing character. The messages were well directed, with few apologies made. Some old men were led to exclaim that the time spent was "perfectly grand". I have visited several old camping grounds where Gospel sieges were enacted and trophies gathered. I have enjoyed the luxury of ministering the Gospel of His grace. Some few have professed to believe God and trust Christ. This finds me in Lowell, Mass., en route for New Brunswick. However, God has been blessing the Word to some here and there where I have been privileged to visit."
