Catherine's parents were John Furness (1783-1875) & Ann Ross (b. 1785 Kilmuir, Isle of Skye, Scotland - d. 1877 Vernon Bridge, PEI. Ann was daughter of Ewen Hugh Ross (1755-1798). Ewen died in the "Battle of the Nile" in Egypt between the British and the French. Potential relation to Donald Ross?
