Oakland Gospel Hall was founded ca. 1887, and met at 475 Sixth Street in Oakland (presently at or near the Oakland Police Station) as an open brethren assembly, possibly by Donald Ross. By 1893, there was a separate assembly meeting at Brush & Seventh Sts., as well as one at 1064 Market St. by 1900, and 453 Eighth St. by 1902.

By 1904, there were two assemblies listed in the address book, the Gospel Hall at 1607 W. Seventh, with correspondent of John McIntyre, who was one of the first baptized in Oakland in 1887, and the second assembly was listed as East Oakland Gospel Hall at 1100 23rd Ave., which met there since 1902 or before.

• 1892-2-24: "Gospel Hall, 475 Sixth Street... special meetings will be held in the above hall beginning on Monday, 22d instant and continuing until further notice, every night during the week except Saturday, at 7:45; conducted by Donald Monro, Evangelist from Toronto, Canada, Charles Montgomery and others; the object of these meetings being the reading and exposition of God's Blessed Word in the edification and consequent revival of his people in Oakland, who are cordially invited; on Monday all day meeting 10 A.M.; seats all free and no collections; bring your Bibles."

• 1893-11-4: "Gospel Hall, corner of Brush and Seventh streets, Oakland: Donald Ross, the Scotch evangelist, will give expository lectures on the prophecies of the book of Daniel in the Gospel Hall Sundays at 3 and 7:45 P.M., and week evenings (except Saturdays) at 7:45 o'clock. These lectures begin tomorrow, November 5th, and will continue for eight weeks."

• 1893-11-25: "Gospel Hall, corner of Brush and Seventh streets: Donald Ross will deliver his last lecture on "Daniel", at 3 P.M., tomorrow. Come and hear the truth."

• 1902-1-25: "Gospel Hall, southwest corner Broadway and Eighth street (entrance on Eighth): William J. McClure, the Irish evangelist, will preach Sunday evening at 7:30, subject, "Christ and Him Crucified." Seats free. No collections. Bring your Bibles."
• 1902-1-25: "Gospel Hall, Twenty-third avenue, near depot: Wm. J. McClure, the Irish evangelist, will deliver an address to Christians at 3:00 P.M. Seats free. No collections. Bring your Bibles."

McClure of Belfast, Ireland, will continue the free course of lectures on the "Tabernacle of Israel" (illustrated by several large charts) tomorrow afternoon at 3:15.
