After his father died, he relocated to Portland, Maine. Bethany Gospel Hall was an open brethren assembly started prior to 1920, which continued thru 1983. In 1957, there was a hive that became [[Spring Hill Gospel Hall, ME]], of which it withdrew itself from the assembly address book for a year or two, then resumed as an independent assembly until 1983. H.F. was 105 when he died.
