In 1853, Alexander resided @ 73 Hughson, Hamilton, and operated the "Hamilton & Kneeshaw" drugstore @ 2 West King. There was another Alexander Hamilton the same year employed as a grocer @ 18 & 20 King William, Hamilton. By 1856, the drugstore was rebranded "Hamilton, Muir & Co.", chemists and druggists, located at the corner of King & James thru 1858.  In 1856, Alex still resided at the same address, but removed to West Ave., opp. Rebecca by 1858.

Mary & Nelson.  He was baptized in 1833 as a child @ First Baptist Church of Montreal, and remained such thru 1881.  By 1871, Muir had returned to Montreal and operated a drugstore there, and converted to Episcopalianism by 1901.  Ebenezer's wife's name was Eliza (b. 1834 ON), and they had four children: Evelyn Muir (b. 1854 U.S.), William Ebenezer Muir (b. 1857 Hamilton, ON - d. 1936 Montreal, QC), Mary Louisa Dudley Muir (b. 1860 Hamilton, ON - d. 1936 Montreal, QC) & James Gordon Muir (b. 1864 ON - d. 1913 Boston, MA).

In 1853, Alexander resided @ 73 Hughson, Hamilton, and operated the "Hamilton & Kneeshaw" drugstore @ 2 West King.
