Types of Assemblies
- Exclusive (aka Closed Brethren) 1848-present
- Open Brethren 1828-present
Note: Both terms have been added by historians and others, and do not necessarily reflect the wishes of those associated with these types of assemblies. Many brethren prefer simply to be known as "believers meeting around the Lord Jesus" or similar phrases that denote simplicity of gathering.
