History

Prior to 1927, Howard Franklin "H.F." Stultz, Sr.‎‎ started Bethany Gospel Hall on Main Street in Westbrook, Cumberland, Maine, a suburb of Portland, and remained its correspondent until its closing after 1983. Around 1958, Donald Lewis Swendsen started what became Spring Hill Gospel Hall in the auditorium of Warren Memorial Library (1879-2009) on 479 Main Street, which acquired its present building in 1961 at 225 Spring Street.
