Gardiner family
Franklin's family was Methodist in 1871 in Oshawa.
- Franklin Cuvier Gardiner +1889-1896+ (b. 1854 Newcastle, Durham, ON - d. 1902 Winnipeg, MB), son of James Jackson Gardiner (b. 1818 Whitby, ON - d. 1870) & Emily Fisher Gardiner (b. 1822 Kingston, ON - d. 1906 Bowmanville, ON). In 1881, Franklin was farming in Whitby, and PB then too... likely at Whitby Meeting Room. In 1891, he was employed in Belleville as an export manager. His widowed brother George Fulton Gardiner (b. 1853 Oshawa, ON - d. 1926 East Rochester, Monroe, NY) resided with them in that year, employed as a railway laborer, and registered as a Methodist.
- Mary "Minnie" Gould Gardiner +1889-1896+ (b. 1858 Pickering, ON; m. 1880 Whitby, ON), daughter of Henry Gould (b. 1828 Puxton, Congresbury, Somerset, Eng. - d. 1899 Oshawa, ON) & Jane Elizabeth Walker Gould (b. 1841 Tailors Creek, Colerain Twp., Hamilton, OH - d. 1911 Toronto, ON). Jane was PB in 1911 in Toronto. In 1880, when Franklin & Minnie were married in Whitby, both were PB and residing there, and Clinton Hurlbut served as one of the witnesses, and Richard French (sic?) officiated.
- Edith Gardiner (b. 1895 Belleville, ON). Edith was PB in 1911 in Toronto.
- Alice Mary Gardiner Hosegrove (b. 1897 Belleville, ON - d. 1990). 1st husband (1918 @ Toronto, ON): John "Jack" Bartlett Hosegrove (b. 1891 Exeter, Devon, Eng. - d. 1961 St. Catherines, ON), son of James Hosegrove (b. 1859 Crediton, Devon, Eng. - d. 1941 Devon, Eng.) & Emma Elizabeth Bartlett Hosegrove (b. 1861 Alphington, Devon, Eng. - d. 1926 Exeter, Eng.). 1931 Alice was PB @ Lincoln, ON while her husband was CoE. Alice was later a member of Scottlea Gospel Chapel (OB). 2nd husband: George McPhail (d. 1985)
