Possibly with the PB in as early as 1867 when he emigrated from England. 1870 @ NYC, NY where he was employed as a domestic servant for C. Goodhue (b. 1830 NY), a retired merchant. He resided in Chicago by 1871, where he was employed in 1880 for a custom boot & shoe shop, and residing at 241 W. Erie St.
