History

Groupe Biblique de Bedford, Brome-Missisquoi, Monteregie, Greater Montreal, Southcentral Quebec, Canada, was a French open brethren assembly that met from 1982-1987.

Prayer meetings, involving two families, began in January 1982 and by August of that year the Lord’s Supper was being celebrated. By May of the following year, the assembly counted some thirty participants. Denis Veilleux, who had moved to the area from Montmagny where he had been in assembly fellowship, served as correspondent. Others, including Réjean and Thérèse Cloutier as well as Pierre Pellerin and his wife Claudette had come from the assembly meeting at Longueuil where they had been in fellowship for several years. The latter couple were involved in full-time ministry at Villa Shalom in Brome. The Groupe biblique de Bedford was affiliated with The Christian Brethren Church in the Province of Quebec in 1983. It last appeared in the pages of News of Quebec in 1987.
