About 1895 he was sitting inebriated on a curb, and some young ladies passed by him that were singing hymns, and he followed them back to a Raven exclusive assembly where he was saved and accepted into fellowship. In 1896, he was living at 1177 W. Adams, employed as an electrician. 1897-1899, he lived at 212 S. Washtenaw Ave., employed as a locksmith. In 1900, he had removed to 1068 W. In 1956, Otto's great-grandson Bill started a printing business in Chicago, presently managed by a son, and in the 1980's a branch developed known as Bibles, etc. printing out-of-print PB writings, and in 2022 the ministry was gifted to a younger brother in the Lord to continue.
