Woodstock Meeting Room, ON
From BrethrenPedia
Woodstock Meeting Room was founded prior to 1845 in Woodstock, Ontario, and comprised that year of Joseph Medlicott Scriven and some friends. About 1852, Scriven relocated to Brantford Meeting Room where he remained around three years, and composed his first draft of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". In 1880 there was no meeting, but George Hill was a contact (1846-1905), employed as a baker.
In 1889, this assembly sided with Raven, and in recent years has met in two locations, one on Mill Rd., since prior to 1954, and another at the local City Hall. To this editor's knowledge, their meetings are not open to the general public, but their overall ministry & ethos may be learned about at PBCC.org. They also operate a private school in Mossley.
