Charles' & Sarah's wedding was witnessed by Luke Aldrich & Edith Cross. F.W. Cross was a son of Jackson Josiah Cross (b. 1829 Cattaraugus Co., NY - d. 1914 Bradford, IA). The Cross family emigrated from Warwickshire, England prior to 1786. Lillith was employed in 1920 as a grammar (gradeschool) teacher in Fremont Twp., Butler, IA which she retired from by 1950. In her latter years, she resided with four nieces (Elizabeth Miller of Cedar Falls, Ada & Margaret Miller of Clarksville, Corinne Martz of Mountaintop, PA) and her nephew (Francis Miller of Lockport, IL).
    • Ruth Elizabeth Darby Miller 1894-1977 (b. 1894 Jackson Twp., Butler, IA - d. 1977 Ainsworth, IA). Husband (1914 @ Presby., Clarksville, IA): Carlyle Mason Miller (b. 1891 Plainfield, Bremer, IA - d. 1977 Waverly, Bremer, IA), son of John Miller (b. 1858 Chicago, IL - d. 1908 Polk Twp., Bremer, IA) & Anna Elizabeth West Miller (b. 1861 Plainfield, IA - d. 1933 Waverly, IA). They farmed in the Plainfield area until 1924 when they moved to Clarksville where Carlyle was employed as a McNess salesman, then the Waverly Sugar Co., finally the International Harvester Co., in Waverly until he retired in 1963.
      • Elizabeth Lillith Miller +1924-2004 (b. 1915 Butler Co., IA - d. 2004 Clarksville, IA). She retired in 1981 after 45 years with Northwestern Bell. Her memorial was held at the assembly.
      • Ada Ruth Miller 1919-2014 (1919-2014 Clarksville, IA). Ada served as deputy clerk of the Butler Co. Selective Service Board until after WWII, then deputy clerk of court for Butler Co., then office manager of Butler Co. Abstract Co. for 39 years.
      • Francis Carlisle Miller 1916-1934+ (b. 1916 Butler Co., IA - d. 1988 Lockport, Will, IL). Wife (1941): Elvera Anna Anderson Miller (1914-2012 Lockport, IL). In 1986, Francis was baptized into the Swedish Covenant in Lockport, Illinois, the same group where his wife was baptized 1915 (rec'd 1933).
        • Ronald Carl Miller (b. 1944 Cedar Falls, IA - d. 2022 Lockport, IL). He was baptized into the Swedish Covenant church in 1944 (rec'd 1960).
      • Margaret Louise Miller 1923-1941+ (b. 1923 Butler Co., IA - d. 2001 Clarksville, IA). Margaret worked as an operator of an address-o-graph machine at the auditor's office at the Butler Co. Courthouse for over 20 years, then the Butler Co. Abstract Office before retiring in 1985.
      • Corinne Helen Miller Martz 1926-1944+ (b. 1926 Waverly, Bremer, IA - d. 2016 Wilkes-Barre, PA). Husband: Bernard Allen Martz, Jr. (b. 1929 Tipton, Blair, PA - d. 2016 Wilkes-Barre, PA), son of Bernard Allen Martz, Sr. (1909-1981 Tyrone, Blair, PA) & Edna Mae Weber Martz (b. 1908 Antis Twp., Blair, PA - d. 1979 Tyrone, PA). Corinne was in fellowship with the Boyertown Assembly, PA for many years, and loved the Lord. She worked for the Iowa State Bank in Clarksville, then as an office manager for Business Office Systems in Wilkes-Barre, PA until her retirement.
    • Clarence Arthur Darby 1896-1914+ (b. 1896 Clarksville, Butler, IA - d. 1985 Waterloo, Black Hawk, IA). Wife (1918 @ Nashua, IA): Katie Marie Sutter Darby (b. 1894 Plainfield, IA - d. 1990 Independence, Buchanan, IA), daughter of David Sutter (b. 1864 Germany; emig. 1880; d. 1918 Fremont Twp., Butler, IA) & Anna Marie Scheidecker Sutter (b. 1871 Germany; emig. 1883; d. 1968 Charles City, Floyd, IA). David's memorial was held at First Baptist of Dallas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Ella was raised at the East Park Presbyterian in Waterloo, her memorial was there also.
        • Susan "Sue" Marie Darby Bullinga (b. 1952 Waterloo, IA - d. 2021 Marion, Linn, IA). She was a licensed RN, and an active volunteer in a local food pantry, and a member of the First Presby of Marion. Her husband of 45 years was Lothar Bullinga, who is renowned for setting a record for Eastern Iowan men in cross-country skiing in 1980 of 35 miles in just over four hours.

      • Ellen Lorraine Darby Roberts (b. 1926 Nashua, IA - d. 2016 Charles City, IA). Husband (1952 @ Greene, IA): Harold Roberts (1921-1996 Clarksville, IA), son of James Oliver Roberts (b. 1868 Heyworth, McLean, IL - d. 1940 Butler Co., IA) & Lula Mae Barr Roberts (b. 1885 Kimball, Brule, SD - d. 1958 Clarksville, IA). Their wedding was officiated by Marlin Rayburn at Calvary Baptist in Greene, which was founded in 1939. In 1951, Ellen was employed by the Commercial Bank and Trust Co., in Charles City and Harold farmed west of Clarksville, and his mother resided in San Mateo, CA. Her memorial was held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran in Charles City.
      • LeRoy Charles Darby (b. 1927 Plainfield, IA - d. 2009 Sarasota, FL). Wife (1949): Colleen Anna Obermeier Darby (b. 1927 Charles City, IA - d. 2021 Sarasota, FL), daughter of Charles Reuben Obermeier (b. 1890 Peoria, IL - d. 1971 Charles City, IA) & Elda Emma Polzin Obermeier (1893-1970 Charles City, IA). He was "fondly remembered for his strong faith in Christ, his perseverance, his generosity, and most of all, his positive outlook on life in all circumstances". He joined the Merchant Marines after graduating from Greene High School in 1945, and transferred to the Navy in 1946, and honorably discharged. Three months after his wedding in May of 1949, he contracted bulbar and paralytic polio which left him in complete paralysis. Thru rehab, he regained some use of his body, and graduated from Hamilton College, and continued into a 55 year banking career, as per his obit, as well as serving as a city clerk, and as president of the first Lions Club in Marble Rock. LeRoy's memorial was at St. Paul ELC in Monona where he resided many years, he was also with Faith ELCA of Sarasota where he was a strong supporter of the development of a major outreach expansion wing.
    • Eliza Marie Darby White 1900-1918+ (b. 1900 Clarksville, IA - d. 1984 Edmonds, Snohomish, WA). Husband (1925 @ Glendive, Dawson, MT): Clarence Augustus White (b. 1900 Boissevain, Brandon, MB - d. 1982 Seattle, King, WA), son of John "Gus" Augustus White (b. 1868 Brunswick, Renssalaer NY; emig. 1887 & 1896; d. 1954 Coquitlam, Greater Vancouver, BC) & Grace Victoria Irving White (b. 1870 Winchester, Stormont, ON - d. 1963 New Westminster, GV, BC). By 1916, Gus & Grace were PB (previously Presby.) in Moose Jaw, SK. He was employed as a painter and carpenter, then operating a Christian bookstore by 1921. Clarence & Eliza were registered Presby. by 1931, living in Vancouver, he was employed as a steam shovel salesman. By 1940, they were living in Seattle.
      • Irving Darby White (b. 1931 Vancouver, BC - d. 1999 Seattle, WA). Wife (1959 @ Tabernacle Baptist, Seattle, WA): Jessie Jean Simons White (b. 1928 Bremerton, WA - d. 1995 Seattle, WA), daughter of Theodore "Ted" Thomas Simons (b. 1905 Cavalier, Pembina, ND - d. 1963 Bremerton, WA) & Lois Jean Violet Simons (b. 1910 Bremerton, WA - d. 1988 Edmonds, Snohomish, WA). Their wedding was officiated by Forrest Johnson who pastored there 1944-1969 who helped found Camp Gilead. Lois Simons attended North Kitsap Baptist. In the early 1950's, Jessie Simons helped organize a women's missionary group sponsored by what is now Faith Community Bible.

Husband (1927 @ Rockford, IL): Charles Henry Oakley (b. 1907 Durand, Winnebago, IL - d. 1997 Rockford, IL), son of John Edward Oakley (1867-1955 Durand, IL) & Elizabeth "Lizzie" M. Sodaman Oakley (b. 1870 Harrison, Winnebago, IL - d. 1928 Durand, IL).
      • Beverly "Bev" Jean Oakley Stephens (b. 1928 Durand, IL - d. 2013 Goshen, Elkhart, IN). Husband: Frederick Colan Stephens (b. 1929 Salamanca, Cattaraugus, NY - d. 2010 Goshen, IN). Frederick was an elder for many years at Beulah Missionary Church.

At the time, Mervin was employed as a bookkeeper for the Butler Bros. franchise in Minneapolis. Mabel's grandfather was William Tennyson (b. 1829 Yorkshire, Eng. - d. 1911 Clarksville, IA), who emigrated to the U.S. about 1849, spending the first six years traveling before settling in 1855 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, credited as a pioneer of Linn County. He relocated ten years later in 1865 to Clarksville. William's wife was Mary Shields Tennyson (b. 1834 Yorkshire, Eng. - d. 1877 Clarksville, IA), her father Robert Shields (1809-1890) emigrated in 1851, settling in St. Joseph, MO until 1856 when he relocated to Black Hawk Co., IA and his later farm in 1873. Unknown if any relation to Alfred Lord Tennyson (1809-1892) although doubtful as they were from different areas of England.

One of his favorite activities was attendance at a weekly Wednesday morning men's bible study at Emmaus Baptist where he was present at the day of his homegoing.

Ruth's 2nd husband was Sterling's sister's 1st husband Leslie Aldrich (1889-1973). Sterling was self-employed as a florist and garden nursery operator. His memorial was held at Grace and Truth Gospel Hall, 3701 S. 14th Ave., Minneapolis.

Leland earned the rank of Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a material control supervisor with Thermo King Trucking Refrigeration in Minneapolis, and relocated to Florida in 1991. He was a member of the First Baptist in Port St. Lucie, FL.
    • Marilyn J. Hoel Thompson (b. 1933 Minn., MN). Husband: Larry Anderson Thompson (b. 1938 Nassau, Bahamas - d. 1997 Minn., MN), son of Anderson D. Thompson (b. 1904 Abaco, Bahamas) & Susan Grace Sands Thompson.

Ipsen family

Harry's paternal grandparents were Mathias Christian Ipsen (b. 1865 Bornholm, Hovedstaden, Denmark - d. 1957 La Grange, Chicago, IL) & Hansine Nikoline Hansen Ipsen (b. 1871 Bornholm, Denmark - d. 1907 La Grange, IL), who were members of the official religion of Denmark (Evangelical Lutheran). Emigrating to the U.S. in 1892, they were married in 1893 at the Bethlehem ELCA in Chicago. Mathias (or "Christ") was employed in Chicago as a cobbler for a retail shoe store.

In 1940, Harry was employed in Denver with the Merchant Biscuit Company, then located at its founding location at 842 Walnut St. in Denver, Colorado (which is now part of the Metropolitan State University campus). That year (1940), Merchant also purchased a factory in Omaha, Nebraska from Nabisco that nine years later made the first Girl Scout cookies. In 1927, Merchant merged with several others to form the United Biscuit Company of America, and rebranded in 1966 as Keebler, as per its wiki.

By 1952, Harry was employed in Charles City with the Oliver Corp., incorporated by James Oliver in 1858 in South Bend, IN, which produced castings for Singer sewing machines, wagon skeins for Studebaker, Hoosier drills, Thomas & Mast grain drills, cider presses & cultivators, Buckeye drills, Hart & Parr combustion engines, Red River threshers, Ann Arbor hay balers, White tractors, Cletrac (Cleveland) tractors & crawlers, Cockshutt tractors, and Farquar cultivators.

During WWII, they built airplane fuselages for Boeing at their factory in Battle Creek, Michigan, 25-ton crane carrier transmissions and 106MM rifle gun mounts for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in Charles City, IA, the MG-1 crawler & M-47 tank final drives in Cleveland, 76MM Walker Bull-Dog tank guns in Gilroy, California, and 150MM Howitzer gun parts in Shelbyville, OH. Harry's mother worked 20 years for Denver Dry Goods in charge of alterations, and a member of Edgewater UMC 1938-1968. Harry's father's 2nd wife was Marion "Minnie" Stewart Yuill Dunsmore-Ipsen (b. 1901 Fergus Co., MT - d. 2000 CO), daughter of Robert Yuill (b. 1868 Glasgow, Scot. - d. 1921 Lewistown, Fergus, MT) & Elizabeth Watson Yuill-Van Tine (b. 1868 Edinburgh, Scot. - d. 1934 Auburn, King, WA).

In Harry's early years, the family moved to Colorado where Albert was employed as a lineman for Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph, as per his obit in FindAGrave. Their wedding was witnessed by Doris' sister and her husband, Mr. & Mrs. Eldred C. Mather. Harry & Doris resided in Denver for five years after their wedding, then returned to Greene.
