Meuter family

In 1887, the Meuter family resided in Litchfield, KS. By 1900, in Baker, Crawford, KS. Felix was employed in 1900 as a coal miner. 1912 @ Girard, KS where he may have been employed with Central Coal & Coke Co. 1915 @ Pittsburg, KS. 1920 @ Spokane, WA living with Adolph & Anna.

In Walla Walla, Bronchains Market, a local grocery store at First Ave. & Alder St., was owned and managed by Adolph until 1946 when it was purchased by Henry Condon (who founded Condon's Baking Co. in 1916). Adolph retained employment there and was asked to oversee the the meat department, assisted by Chester Nettrower managing the grocery. By 1971, this grocery store had been rebranded as Collins Market. Adolph later worked for the grocery store that George J. Storrer (1886-1858) founded, until a few weeks before his death.

Wife (1942 @ Ballard, King, WA): Audrey Lurine Anderson Meuter (b.), daughter of Erick Anderson (b. 1896 Sweden; emig. 1904; d. 1967 Corson Co., ND) & Charlotte Inanda Peterson Anderson (b. 1895 Centerville, Turner, SD - d. 1984 Hettinger, Corson, ND). Erick was raised Lutheran, and Charlotte as Presbyterian.

Storrer family

George emigrated from Germany to Aberdeen, Idaho in 1905 with several other young men to work as farmhands for Mennonites, including the Cornelius Klassen family. He setup an assembly table at the train station in American Falls, and by 1912, with help of Walter Potter from Kansas City, and Cornelius Klassen, Aberdeen Meeting Room was incorporated. Sometime in 1918, George relocated to Walla Walla where he was employed in as a manufacturer, then by 1920 as a truck driver for a lumberyard. By 1933, he had setup his own grocery store, meeting in 1953 at Howard & Alder Sts.

Thonney family

The WW assembly met initially in Jean Thonney's home. His family emigrated to the U.S. on Apr. 15, 1850. By 1856 he lived at Greenville, Bond, IL, and in 1870 he was at Beaver Creek, Bond, IL where it is presumed the year he relocated to Walla Walla, likely via the Oregon Trail. Henry Rochat lived here 1883-1884.

      • Jeptha "Charles" Thonney +1937-1944+ (b. 1883 WW, WA - d. 1950 Kirkland, King, WA). In 1910, Charles owned a feed mill. Wife (1906 @ Spokane, WA): Lilly May Kann Thonney +1944+ (b. 1878 Henry (near Abilene), Dickinson Co., KS - d. 1944 WW, WA), daughter of Howard William Kann (b. 1846 Adams Co., PA - d. 1930 Spokane, WA) & Emma Susan Benner Kann (b. 1857 Gettysburg, Adams, PA - d. 1938 Spokane, WA). From the 1890's on, there was a TW-Lowe meeting at Manchester, Talmage, and also Chapman, Kansas. Howard & Emma lived in Spokane 1896-1930.

Wife (1919 @ WW, WA): Gladys Hodge Thonney (b. 1898 Franklin, Newton, MO), daughter of George Rufus Hodge (b. 1876 Elk Horn or Pineville, McDonald, MO - d. 1959 Umatilla, OR) & Martha Julia Schultz Hodge (b. 1877 Neosho, Newton, MO - d. 1966 Kent, King, WA). George Hodge's mother was a member of Hindsville Baptist in Arkansas. Martha Hodge operated a restaurant in Pasco from 1920-1940 then moved to Seattle.
    • Louis Thonney 1870-1873+ (b. 1855 Illinois City, Rock Island, IL - d. 1896 Pullman, Withman, WA). Wife: Sophronia Rosetta Baud Thonney-Ford (b. 1866 Illinois City, IL - d. 1904 Moscow, Latah, ID), daughter of Louis Baud (b. 1839 Suisse, Switzerland - d. 1918 Medical Lake, WA) & Betsy Ann Metz Baud (b. 1846 Rushville, Schuyler, IL - d. 1911 Pullman, WA).
    • Theophilus Thonney 1870-1878 (b. 1856 Greenville, IL - d. 1928 Pullman, WA). Wife: Sarah Catherine Baud Thonney (b. 1867 Greenville, IL - d. 1954 Spokane, WA), sister of Louis Thonney's wife Sophronia Rosetta Baud Thonney. Members of both the Thonney and the Baud family are regarded to be among the pioneers of Pullman, Theophilus moved there in 1878, when the city was two years old and known as Three Forks, renamed Pullman in 1888. There was a TW assembly there from +1896-1933+.
    • Henrietta Julia Thonney Aubin 1870-1880+ (b. 1858 IL - d. 1925 WW, WA). Husband (1877 @ WW): Jean Edward Aubin (b. 1842 Quebec City, QC - d. 1911 WW, WA).
    • John Thonney 1870-1878+; +1903-1933 (b. 1860 Springfield, IL - d. 1933 WW, WA). Wife: Eva Rochat Thonney (b. 1858 St. Paul, Ramsey, MN - d. 1941 WW, WA), daughter of Henri Louis Abraham Isaac Rochat (b. 1828 Le Pont, Vaud, Switz. - d. 1907 Spokane, WA) & Fanny Rosselet Rochat (b. 1831 Grand Bayard, Neuchatel, Sw.; m. 1856 Grand Bayard, Sw.; d. 1874 St. Paul, MN). In 1860, Henri Rochat was employed as a watchmaker in St. Paul.

Tweedy family

The Tweedy family was originally CoE, and PB by 1881, that year residing in Elmsley, Leeds & Grenville, ON, and in 1891 at Smiths Falls. By 1901, Hiram & Margaret Tweedy had returned to the CoE. Hiram was employed in 1901 as a carpenter in Smiths Falls. Charles & Bessie were married at 616 Isabella St., Edmonton in 1911, the wedding was officiated by "Rev. Dr. Nicol", and they remained in Edmonton a few years before relocating to WW.

  • Charles Edmund Tweedy 1916-1929 (b. 1884 Smiths Falls, ON - d. 1929 WW, WA), son of Hiram Tweedy (b. 1851 South Elmsley, L&G, ON - d. 1904 Smiths Falls, ON) & Margaret Jane Wills Tweedy (b. 1856 L&G Cos., ON; m. 1911 Edmonton, AB; d. 1929 Lanark Co., ON).
  • Bessie Eva Robinson Tweedy 1916-1942? (b. 1877 Frostburg, MD - d. 1942 WW, WA), daughter of John Robinson & Claudia Shaver Robinson. In 1934, Bessie was employed as a nurse in WW, and previously (1920) as a housekeeper.
    • David Robinson Tweedy 1916-1929+ (b. 1913 Edmonton, AB - d. 1977 North Vancouver, BC). 1st wife (1935 @ Vancouver, BC): Phyllis "Belle" Dods, daughter of A.R. Dods. 2nd wife: Edith Edwards Tweedy.
    • Ralph Hiram Tweedy 1916-1929+ (b. 1915 Edmonton, AB - d. 1962 White Rock, BC). 1934 @ Harrison Lake, BC. Ralph was employed as a building contractor. Wife: Eleanor Tweedy. J. Murchie officiated Ralph's memorial. Son: David Tweedy.
