Andrews family
James L. Andrews was a ship carpenter by trade, then a house carpenter, known as a "fine and conscientious workman". He enlisted in the Sixth NC Regt. in 1861 and served as a Confederate throughout the Civil War. Wiley relocated from Fayetteville to Greensboro in 1910, a retired painting contractor and interior decorator, who served at SHBC as a head usher for several years, and an elder. The wedding of Wiley & Ina was in the home of Mr. & Mrs. J.A. McDonald, officiated by R.G. Kendrick, pastor of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church, whose location was the first meeting place of SHBC.

- Mary Ella Andrews Gerringer 1940+ (b. 1919 Morehead, NC - d. 2009). Husband (1942 @ Guilford Co., NC): Linley William Gerringer, Jr. +1979 (b. Rockingham Co., NC - d. 1979 G'boro, NC), son of Mary Oliver Gerringer. Charles Crawford & J. Eddie Schartz officiated Linley's memorial at SHBC. He was an engineer at Carolina Steel, and a member of the Industrial Management Club and the Board of Directors at Mountain Top Youth Camp. He was a deacon, trustee, SS teacher and a member of the building committee at SHBC. He was a WWII vet, and retired National Guard.

- Thelma Louise Andrews Wofford (b. 1916 Guilford Co., NC - d. 2007). Husband (1936 @ Forest Ave. Baptist, G'boro, NC): Robert "Bump" Herman Wofford (b. 1912 Rowan Co., NC - d. 2013 Kernersville, Forsyth, NC), son of James Emanuel Wofford (b. 1874 Healing Springs, Davidson, NC - d. 1941 G'boro, NC) & Euzelia Belle Feezor Wofford (b. 1874 Cotton Grove, Davidson, NC - d. 1965 Lexington, Davidson, NC). Robert & Thelma were longtime members of Parkway Gospel Chapel in Winston-Salem. Robert retired after 33.5 years at RJR, and was the athletic director for Pop Warner Little League.

Cochran & Charlie King Cochran. David was a Navy WWII vet, and a deacon at Milner Baptist. He was a retired regional construction manager of the United Tech Otis Elevator Corp..
- William "Bill" Parker Andrews 1940+ (b. 1921 G'boro, NC - d. 2009 Raleigh, NC). Bill attended Southwestern Baptist Theo. Seminary in Fort Worth, TX, Univ. of Richmond and Harvard. While at SWBS, he pastored Shiloh Baptist in Dawson, TX. He and Connie served as independent missionaries 1950-1987 in Chile, and served on staff at Providence Baptist in Charlotte, NC. Wife: Constance "Connie" May Andrews (b. 1925 Wenham, MA).

Wife (1941 @ G'boro, NC): Helen Brockton Wilson Andrews (b. 1923 Guilford Co., NC - d. 2023 Greensboro, NC), daughter of Edward Cleveland Clee Wilson (b. 1888 Raleigh, NC - d. 1926 G'boro, NC) & Grace Alilene Hiatt Wilson (b. 1892 Morehead, Guilford, NC; m. 1911 G'boro, NC; d. 1958 G'boro, NC). In 1911, Edward Wilson was a "popular employee of the Southern railway".

- Dale Thomas Andrews 1940-1945+ (b. 1927 Greensboro, NC - d. 2008 Jamestown, Guilford, NC). Wife (1950): Betty Hobbs Andrews. Dale served in the Army during WWII. In 1968, he was on the Board of Directors for the Greensboro YMCA, and 1969-1976 vice-pres. of operations for Mayberry Ice Cream Shoppes. His last year at Mayberry, he was the president of the National Ice Cream Retailers Assoc., and chosen as their "man of the year" in 1986. He was vice-pres. of national sales at Alamance Foods from 1976-2002, then retired to serve the Lord more with his family at Gate City Baptist Church in Jamestown.
