Notable Families

Corboz family

Emile emigrated to the U.S. in 1907, settling by 1910 in Greenville, Bond Co., Illinois, which is a suburb of St. Louis, MO, and the location of the oldest active brethren assembly in the U.S., founded in the early 1850's, Greenville Meeting Room, affiliated with the TW exclusives. He was self-employed there as a florist, and by 1912 in the Indianapolis metro (Wayne Twp.), employed for a school estate, and a landscaper from 1923 until retiring in 1958. There were no TW's in the area when he arrived in Indianapolis, which may have influenced his decision to join the opens (presuming he was previously EB).
