He trusted Christ on March 24, 1918 in downtown Seattle, was baptized and came into fellowship in the Seattle assembly. Later he moved back to Vancouver, was married and commended to the Lord's work. He was active in gospel work in the Pacific NW and visited assemblies in teaching throughout North America, Australia and New Zealand for many decades. He visited the Seattle assembly many times and officiated at many of the believers' funerals."

Philip Mauro had written a number of scriptural books on prophecy as well as his best known, Ruth: The Satisfied Stranger. He gave considerable help in ministering the Word of God during his four year stay in the area.
