Gospel Truth Hall, Lincoln, Kewaunee, WI
From BrethrenPedia
As early as 1869, there was an exclusive brethren assembly known as Gospel Truth Hall in Lincoln, Kewaunee, Wisconsin which is in the Green Bay metro. Lincoln was/is predominantly Belgian-American, the fourth-most percentage of such in the U.S., and mostly Roman Catholic historically. The assembly may have been either Walloon or French speaking in its early years.
About 1948, several families left to join with the open brethren, and founded Lincoln Gospel Chapel in 1948 which in 1985 relocated between Casco and Luxemburg, rebranded as Country Bible Church, which continues, and Gospel Truth Hall folded shortly afterward. Some alum of the Hall joined the opens, most joined with the local Baptists and independents. The assembly building has been razed but a cemetery remains. In latter years, there were joint Christmas parties between the two meetings.
