Ralph Edwin Littlefield

Childhood
Ralph Edwin Littlefield was born around 1886 to James Edwin Littlefield (1860-1950) and Clara Etta Bomgardner (1865-1956), the 2nd generation of a total of four generations of optometry. His son would become the first optometrist in the Kansas City area to fit contact lenses, and holds patents on their manufacture. His father founded a school teaching optometry, trade associations, and wrote a book on the subject.
Marriage
Marriage: 1916 Ralph married Mary Mulvin Carnie (1889-1975), born in Canada.
- Mary's parents:
- Charles Ferrier Carnie (1861-1914), scholar, born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, to Alexander & Alison (Ferrier) Carnie, died in Kansas City.
- Mabel (Cuthbert) Carnie, born 1867 in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. Her father was born in Kirkton, Scotland, and her mother born in Canada, died in Kansas City.
