- Lansing State Journal: Gospel meeting in Leslie: "An open air gospel meeting will be held in downtown Leslie on Friday, June 14, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be conducted by the Jackson Gospel Hall, which holds similar meetings in area cities and villages throughout the summer. The meeting will be held on Main Street in the downtown business district. R. Douglas Losey, representative of the Jackson Gospel Hall, said the meetings usually last about an hour and consist of the singing of hymns and brief gospel messages from the scriptures. The Jackson Gospel Hall, Losey said, is non-denominational and non-political and does not solicit nor accept contributions and is not seeking members for any group or organization. "Our only desire in this matter is to carry out the commission of our Lord Jesus Christ when He stated in Mark 16:15: 'Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature'," he said."
