Earle was commended by the open assembly in Sturgis to full-time resident work in 1942. He was employed as a bookkeeper, and later joined the local Church of the Nazarene, where his funeral was held, officiated by A.W. Gould, after two days illness that led to his death at the age of 49. He continued his lay ministry for the duration of his life. See obit & Earle Froh Commendation LOI 1942-1&2.

Earle's nephew Robert Charles Froh (1925-1945) was "lost near the (Paw Paw Rocks) Bahamas" during WWII where he was serving as a Sea 1C U.S. N.A.C. at the age of 19. He was on a scheduled radar training patrol flight on a PB4Y-1 (similar to a B-24) with 13 other crew members in early March of 1945, the plane was flown by Lt. Ernest B. Anderson. Other crew included Ens. Ervin C. Orser, Ens. Ivar D. Ohlin, Lt. Nicholas Feckoury, AMM2/c Donald M. Maloney, AMM3/c Joie "L" McKinney, ARM2/c Vernon A. Elchert, ARM3/c Charles J. Nickerman, Slc. Basil G. Stewart, AOM2/c Roger W. Dennis, AOM2/c George A. Martin, S1/c Edward B. Walthall & ARM2/c John G. Roche.

As per Ancestry.com, the pilot "took off on a scheduled 10 hr. radar training flight in the vicinity of the Bahamas Is.

Regular CW position reports were received until and including the 1700 position report which placed his plane 60 miles due west of Paw Paw Rocks in the Bahamas where he was scheduled to conduct simulated radar bombing and strafing attacks at Paw Paw Rock radar target. This plane sent no radio reports after 1720, did not return to the base, and was presumed lost when one hour overdue.

Special searches were sent out on Mar. 11 thru 18, with no results other than sighting of two empty rubber life rafts in the vicinity of Walker Cay, Bahamas Islands.". Both were deemed probable to have been associated with the downed plane.
