Bible Truth Chapel was founded in Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania as a Grant exclusive assembly, and active definitely by 1905, becoming an open brethren meeting in the 1950's, and closed in 1996.

In 1862, William Rapp was taking medical care of a number of Civil War wives at 8th & Penn, which is the same corner where the assembly's first location was. One of the ladies William looked after was Elizabeth Madeiras, who may have been grandmother to Emma Rebecca Dumn Weaver, who, with her husband James Monroe Weaver, were in fellowship with the assembly (by 1913). See Emma's obit. Their daughter Anna Weaver Gorgas was mother of Richard "Dick" Gorgas, a laboring brother within the TW exclusives. In 1895, J.B. Gottshall, Grant EB preacher, of Clinton, Ontario, Canada, preached at Breneiser's Hall, at 8th & Penn.

The assembly's first known location was from 1905 thru 1913 as a rented 2nd floor at 8th & Penn. Next location was a rented 2nd floor at Stauffer's Hall, 6th & Franklin. Then they purchased a former shirt family for $13,700 from the S.J. Kotzen estate, and Barney Sher, on the SE (or SW?) corner of 5th & Franklin, where they met from 1926-1988. Their final location was at the Days Inn in Shillington until their closure in 1996. George Starke was another known correspondent.
