History

Calgary Meeting Room is a TW-exclusive assembly in the largest city in Alberta, Canada, in Div. 6. In 1927, Charles E. Wilkinson, gathered out, resided in nearby Foothills Co., in a tiny hamlet (2003 population was 79) about six miles west of Calgary's city limits.

Then in 1951, Thomas Boyd resided in Calgary, also in fellowship. But it was not until about 1962 when Ronald Sykes and Donald Pope started breaking bread together with their families that an assembly commenced and began to grow. By 1973, Alan Heslop and Lorne Butler were among the correspondents.

Then in 1985, Daniel Pilkington and Charles Bateman were serving as such, along with Alan. The assembly continues in 2024, with about ten families attending, as one of the last remaining TW assemblies in Alberta. Between 1894 and today, there have been brethren residing in 24 different locations of the province, spanning ten assemblies in fellowship. The first assembly there commenced about 1903 in Edmonton which met thru 1933, with various brethren residing there thru 2005.
