  • Carl Daniel "Dan" Andersen +1953-1960+ (b. 1907 Boelus, Howard, NE - d. 1990 Altona, MB). Son of Paul Andersen (b. 1883 Dannebrog, Howard, NE - d. 1975 Des Moines, IA) & Hulda Marie Danielsen Andersen (b. 1888 Council Bluffs, IA - d. 1978 Des Moines, IA). In 1920, the family was living in nearby Loup Fork.

Dan had a younger sister, Rosa Viola Andersen Doane (b. 1912 Howard Co., NE - d. 1996 Portland, Multnomah, OR, who relocated to Portland in 1937 for nurses' training at Emananuel Hospital, where she eventually retired as an anesthetist. in 1949, she married Lewis Leslie Doane (b. 1915 Cornelius, Washington, OR - d. 1991 Portland, OR). Lewis owned and operated Doane's Shoe Store for 17 years, and was noted as a Bible teacher for Northwest churches, clubs and senior citizen centers. He was also a member of the Christian Businessmen's Council, and of Grace & Truth Chapel. Her memorial service was at Grace Bible Fellowship. Lewis was a son of Leslie Lewis Doane (b. 1886 Baker City, Baker, OR - d. 1971 Multnomah Co., OR) & Emma A. Krause Doane (1889-1937 Cornelius, OR). Lewis' father's 2nd wife was Lela Leona Peterson Doane (b. 1887 Clay Center, Clay, KS - d. 1972 Forest Grove, Washington, OR).

Dan & Martha attended Moody Bible Institute in preparation for the mission field in Africa, Dan (1926-1928) and Martha (1926-1927). Dan also attended Des Moines University in 1928. They were married in 1929 at at the Dannebrog Baptist Church in Howard Co., NE and left for Africa in 1930, their passport issued June 20 of that year. The family returned to the U.S. (via Antwerp, Belgium and NYC) in Oct. 1934 for a furlough. In 1940, they were furloughing at Dan's sister's in Canby, Clackamas, Oregon, and they relocated to Brazil, then Africa. Prior to 1948, they served with the Open Brethren until 1948 when they joined the TW's. By 1951, they were living in Lawrence, Kansas, in fellowship with Philip O. Bell, who had lived there since 1944, and were in Des Moines by 1953. In March of 1959, Dan ministered in Trinidad. In April of 1962, he ministered in Barbados.

  • Martha Carolyn Andersen (b. 1907 Dannebrog, Howard, NE - d. 1995 Altona, MB). Daughter of Maurits Christian Andersen (b. 1863 Rodding, Denmark - d. 1944 Dannebrog, NE) & Ananea Mortine Kirstine Christensen Andersen (b. 1869 Rodding, Denmark - d. 1942 Dannebrog, NE). Maurits' family emgigrated to the U.S. in 1887, and Ananea's family in 1893, they were married in Rodding in 1893. Maurits was self-employed as early as 1900 as a shoemaker. In 1930, Dan & Martha lived with Dan's parents at Loup Fork, Howard, NE.
