Charlie Culin

Intro

Charlie Culin was a German brother in fellowship with Arnstein Gospel Hall, an Open Brethren assembly in Ontario, Canada. Charlie hosted some of the prayer meetings in his home near Loring, and for forty years, he hosted a Sunday School, also in his home, which was an influential contribution in the spiritual lives of many children, including Walter Foreshew, a long-time correspondent and servant leader within Sudbury Gospel Hall. Walter's parents were Ernest Edward Foreshew and Marjorie Vanmeer Foreshew, both in fellowship at Arnstein.

Birth

Charlie was born in 1884, his parents were Angelo Culin (b. 1871 Italy) and his wife Lucey Yench (b. 1868 Ontario). Had eight siblings: Gustav, Amelia, Emile, Mary, Angelo, Salma, Rudolf and Agusta.

Occupation

Charlie worked as a carpenter.

Marriage & Family

On Aug. 3, 1908 in Parry Sound, Ontario, Charlie married Mary Elizabeth Brown (1889-1966). He was 24, and she was 19 years old. Mary was the daughter of Levart Ezra Brown (1862-1946) and his wife Kate "Kitty" Morgan Brown, Methodists.

Death

Charlie and Mary both died in 1966, and are buried in the Port and Loring Cemetery.
