History

From 1923 to 1927, a Tunbridge Wells exclusive brother named John McConnell lived in River Mead, a neighborhood in Gatineau, Outaouais, Quebec, across the river from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. John was born in Quebec in 1854, and died in 1946 in Ottawa, Ontario. He was affiliated with the PB as early as 1891.

He retired in 1923 from the Canadian Pacific Railway, and was a motorman in 1901, and a switchman in 1911. He lived from 1901 on in Wright, Hull, Quebec, thru at least 1927.  He was the son of Johnathan Alger McConnell (b. 1828 QC) & Sarah Irish McConnell (b. 1831 QC) who were registered Methodists.

John's first wife, Frances Baulke he married in 1891, she was Presbyterian and from Ireland. His second wife, Mary Caroline River McConnell (b. 1854 Louisville, NY - d. 1931 Gatineau, QC);

Children: Charles Alger McConnell (1897-1947) worked for the Evening Citizen business office in Ottawa; dau. Mrs. George Walsh.
