1944

  • L&L 1944-1: Mansfield, OH: "We had a visit for one week in November with our brother James Spink, who spoke on “Things to Come.” The little assembly was richly blessed and the interest was very good with many strangers coming in and coming back. We trust that God will give us fruit as the result of these meetings."

    • Radio Evangelism: Mansfield, OH: "James F. Spink had two mornings on our Radio Station WMAN and his ministry on the Coming of the Lord was greatly enjoyed by many who listened."
    • The Work of the Lord in Many Lands (TWotLiML): "The little assembly was much encouraged by a visit from W.G. Foster of Cleveland. Were also refreshed with the rich ministry of a week’s meetings on the Old Testament by James F. Spink.The hall was filled every night. Andrew Craig gave much help to the saints four nights. His subject was Christ as Our High Priest. It was like having a little conference to have these brethren come and give us help, and we are glad to see an interest shown in helping the small assemblies."
  • L&L 1944-7: June 1st: "D.O. Calderhead, 325 Reed St., Mansfield, Ohio, for some time past has been in Michigan, ministering the word of the Lord. Also proclaiming Christ in the gospel, the Lord giving the needed help, also blessings in souls being saved. He expects to be in tent in Saginaw, Michigan, in July and will value prayer that souls may be reached and gloriously saved."
    • This work was in conjunction with Saginaw Gospel Hall, which enabled them to eventually construct their first owned location on Madison Street.

1948

  • L&L 1948-2:

New Hall at Mansfield, Ohio: "The Christians at this place have finished building an attractive and comfortable brick building for the use of the assembly. The Name of our new building will be called: Lincoln Heights Gospel Chapel, Kentucky Ave., and Ashland Road, Mansfield, Ohio. The order of our meetings will be as follows: Breaking of Bread 9:30 a.m., Sunday School and Ministry Meeting 11:00 a.m., Gospel Meeting 7:00 p.m., Prayer meeting and Bible Study Wednesday 7:30 p.m.

Mr. James Hunter, 359 Ashland Road, Mansfield, Ohio, the correspondent writes: We had a very nice Watch night service, and on January 4, we had the opening Service at 2:30 p. m. In the afternoon, W.G. Foster from Cleveland and F.W. Schwartz from Detroit were with us. The building was filled to capacity, and the ministry was greatly appreciated by all present. We have started our Sunday School and intend to use the basement for class rooms while upstairs the parents who come with their children can gather with the Christians to listen to the Ministry of the word, with a clear message in the Gospel to interest them in order that they may be won for Christ. We are expecting David Lawrence from Centerville, Iowa, D. V., March 21 for two week meetings. All the Lord's dear people are welcome and any of the Lord's servants wishing to come for meetings will they kindly write to the correspondent."

  • LOI 1948-10: Mansfield, OH: Lincoln Heights Gospel Chapel: James Hunter: "We had the pleasure and privilege of a visit by our brother James F. Spink, who gave us one week in ministry, on the 12 Gates of Nehemiah, with their application to present day Christian living. The little assembly was greatly helped and encouraged to go on in theways that please our Lord, whose we are and whom we serve. Many strangers from other churches came every night to hear these timely and inspiring messages and our prayers are that one day we may have the joy of seeing some take their place with the little testimony in Lincoln Heights. We are planning, D.V., to have our brother F. W. Schwartz to come in October to help us in a Gospel effort. Would value the prayers of the saints for this needy field."
  • LOI 1948-12: Mansfield, OH: J. Hunter: "Brother F. W. Schwartz recently finished a series of Gospel meetings at the Lincoln Heights Gospel Chapel. The attendance was fair, with a few strangers coming in. The homes in the neighborhood were visited by brother Schwartz and the Sunday school teachers; tracts and invitations were distributed to every family in the community. No definite results were evident, but we feel the seed has been sown, and we pray that those who heard the Word will yet be won to the Saviour. Our meeting at ll:00 a.m. Sunday is proving to be a help to our little assembly; some parents are bringing their children for Sunday school and remaining to hear a Gospel message. Please pray for the work here in Mansfield."

1950's

1951

  • LOI 1951-6: Mansfield, OH: James Hunter, Sr.: "The assembly at Lincoln Heights Gospel Chapel has experienced a real blessing in recent months. A number of souls have been saved, others have been restored, and other Christians have seen the truth of scriptural principles of gathering to the Lord's precious Name, and have come into fellowship in the assembly. On Lord's Day afternoon April 8 we had the joy of seeing six obey the Lord in the ordinance of baptism. These will be received in the assembly on Lord's Day. When we came here fifteen years ago, there was no testimony to His Name in Mansfield. Now we have a very nice assembly and an attractive gospel chapel, which the brethren labored hard to build. Our Sunday school and Family Bible Hour at ll a.m. is very well attended, and the Sunday school is growing. We have from 70 to 80 present at this meeting, also the gospel meeting at 7:30 p.m. is growing. We had two weeks of meetings with Brother David Calderhead. The homes were visited with tracts and invitations. Also the Word was broadcast over a loudspeaker attached to the car. Others are exercised about taking their place with the testimony. Will value the prayers of the Lord's people for the work here in Mansfield."

  • LOI 1960-9&10: Mansfield, OH: LHGC, Kentucky Ave. & Ashland Rd.: J. Hunter, Sr.: "At the Family Bible Hour there is good attendance, and the Sunday school is seeing an increase, with more classes being added. Our work with the teenage group has been fruitful. Four of these young people have accepted the Lord as Savior, and have asked to be baptized. We just completed two weeks of DVBS, with an average of over 100 children attending daily. Many of the parents were present at the program on the closing night, when printed invitations were given out, as to the time of our meetings, and a cordial welcome was extended to all."

1967

  • LOI 1967-10: Conferences: David E. Holdsworth, Correspondent, 395 Michigan Ave., Mansfield, OH: Oct. 26-29: "Annual conference at the Lincoln Heights Gospel Chapel, Mansfield, Ohio, to be held four days, October 26 through 29, with prayer on Wednesday, October 25. The chapel is at 536 Kentucky Ave. Dan Smith from Emmaus Bible School to be one of the speakers. Meals provided, overnight accommodations available. A warm welcome to all."
