- LOI 1981-7/8: Letters to the Editor: Mrs. James Boyd: "Many elders are family men, and the Scriptures require a well-ordered family situation. Also, many are employed, and the Bible teaches that an employed believer is to work as unto the Lord. Since some elders might have all of these responsibilities to handle, it seems very possible that the demands on their time might make them hard-pressed. The women in our assembly work in the following areas: visiting contacts of the assembly, the ill, and shut-ins; teaching Sunday school, craft clubs, Bible clubs, and women's Bible studies: showing hospitality to the Lord's servants, neighbors. and others of the community; participating in missionary work meetings; helping others with baby-sitting, transportation. and in emergency situations; counseling those with problems with marriages or children. If Christian women are not to engage in the activities proposed in the January article. I would appreciate knowing what is our work that is being left undone."
