Memorial for Jennie was held at Fertile Christian Church, officiated by a pastor of an evangelical church in Manly.

When he registered for the draft in WWII, he was employed as a mechanic for Joe Daniels of Mason City, IA. Wife: Jane Benson Blocher (b. 1917 Mason City, IA - d. 2012 Des Moines, IA), daughter of Elmer Martin "Benny" Benson (b. 1885 Jamestown, N.D. - d. 1945 Manly, IA) & Mable Nutehill Mitchell Benson (b. Manly, IA). Benny Benson was employed 1905-1923 as a professional baseball player, as a 2nd Baseman, 3rd Baseman and Shortstop, in the Minor Leagues, some with the Southern league, four years in the American association with Columbus and Milwaukee, a season with Oklahoma City, and some time with the Three-Eye league. Andrew & Iva remained there thru 1949, with their children, returning to California, where their son worked for Western Book & Tract (Ironside's bookstore) while in high school. Andrew & Iva eventually retired to the Bethesda Assembly Home in Hayward, CA.

Nutt (1866-1897).Jefferson was "a well known Chicago & Northwest railroad conductor", in fellowship with the Capitol Hill Church of Christ. Anna moved with her parents in 1868 to Lawrence, Kansas where she graduated high school, and because a school teacher in nearby Clay Co. They were married in 1879, moving to Jefferson's home county of Boone in 1880. After Henry Winfield Short died, Anna remarried George William Tilton (b. 1854 Fayette, IL - d. d. 1938 Des Moines, IA), a school janitor. Henry's family moved from Michigan to Des Moines in 1948 when Henry was 13, he attended a gospel meeting there when he was 23, and was led to the Lord by Ron Reeves, and discipled by Clifford Henry Brown until 1961 when Henry married Agnes, and C.H. and his wife Bertha relocated to California.
