Bastow family

Herbert was was a Methodist minister who saw Scripture texts in the window of the assembly about 1915, and was saved thru this ministry, and he and his wife were eventually in fellowship with the assembly. He became an self-supporting itinerant preacher among the brethren. In 1918-1920, he and his wife Anna resided at 811 Harrison Blvd., 1922-1927, at 1110 3rd Ave., and in 1931, at 814 1/2 Harrison Blvd.

In 1919, Herbert was appointed as a census enumerator in Ward 6 of Wausau In 1920. He worked as a collector for a furniture company on 202-204 Scott St., founded by Edward John Radandt (b. 1877 Columbia Co., WI - d. 1947 Wausau, WI), then considered one of the largest stores of its type in all of Wisconsin. In 1918, he was working as an advertising manager for the Wausau Daily Record-Herald newspaper, and in 1922 as a solicitor for the same. By 1925, he was a sign painter. Before 1933, he moved to Green Bay, then Sheboygan, WI. Raymond Campbell was significantly helped by Bro. Bastow. On Nov. 17th, 1915, Herbert officiated a wedding between Peter Fladrid of Dancy, and Esther B. Priest of Wausau. He also officiated Herman Friedrich Erdtmann Lucht's memorial at BTC in 1927. After his wife died in 1949, he resided with the Henry Engelbert family in Sheboygan. Abe Hartsema of Muskegon, Michigan officiated both memorials.

Sarah's memorial was significantly attended, as per The Sheboygan Press, 1949-3-10. Pallbearers were George Simolke, Emil Felten, Merle Pierce, Sr., William Bogenschutz, Charles Noel, Sr., and Howard Schnelle. A quartet composed of Jim, Lawrence, Sam and Roland Felten, accompanied by Mrs. Rudy Felten, sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", "The Glory Shines Before Me" and "Shall We See Thy Face". Floral tributes were received by the Bible Truth assembly in Sheboygan, Casco Assembly, and brethren of the Good News Chapel. Attendees from out-of-town included:

Schuett family

Wilhelm Schuett came to the U.S. as a child with his parents in 1854, settling initially in Milwaukee, then in Wausau in 1862. He resided within the city limits from 1902-1922. Rev. William Spiegel officiated his memorial. Wilhelm's daughter Pauline and son Herman were both part of the assembly, as was his sister Martha. He had several other siblings: Mrs. William Kell (Maine Twp., WI), Mrs. August Goebel, Mrs. Frank Deichsel & Fred Schuett. The latter four siblings still resided in Wausau in 1922. Wilhelm's mother Fredericka was in fellowship with St. John's ELCA in Maine, WI.
