Calderwood Family

• James (Jim) Calderwood and Cecilia Christina Calderwood (nee Dowkes)
  • Jim was David and Agnes (Nancy) Calderwood's (of Pibroch Gospel Hall, AB) second eldest child and eldest son. He, along with his two younger brothers moved to southern Alberta to farm. He married Cecilia Dowkes of Meridian Gospel Hall, SK (OB) whose grandfather was Thomas Dowkes who started the Meridian Meeting Room before joining the open assemblies. Cecilia's mother was a MacFarlane of which that family has been a main stay in the Glen Ewen Gospel Hall, SK (OB) and the new, Souris Valley Christian Assembly in Oxbow, SK. A daughter of Jim and Cecilia, Ethel, married Ornan Huber. They fellowshipped at a few different assemblies in Calgary before beginning Good News Bible Chapel, AB (OB) in their basement in 2007. That assembly continues to meet at the Scandinavian Centre in Calgary and at homes during the week.
