  • Leora Hartman Kelly: "Leora Kelly, 71, of Waco, passed away Friday, June 11, 2009, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Plowman officiating.

Leora Alice was born in Arma, Kansas, to the late William O. and Ora V. (Lane) Hartman, the youngest of seven children. She was a homemaker and attended the Waco Bible Chapel. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Lanier, of West and Mary Lillard, of Waco; son, John Kelly, of Waco; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Ismay Maples, of Waco; brothers, Wayne Hartman, of Porter, and Kenneth Hartman, of Humble; and several nieces and nephews."   • Howard A. Kohrmann, Sr., 78, of Waco, TX went to be with the Lord on June 27, 1998. He was a full-time commended worker through Waco Bible Chapel and Colonial Hills Bible Chapel (Houston, TX). He was a chaplain of the North Waco Association at the time of his death. He had also served on the Board of Cedar Hills/Sandy Creek Bible Camp for more than 50 years. Howard and Mollie Marie, his wife of 55 years, were active at Waco Bible Chapel and with gospel literature distribution. Howard had a prison ministry and also enjoyed visitation.

Born in 1919 in Hufsmith, TX, Howard married in 1942. His ministry began in 1948 in his home and that group became Melrose Bible Chapel in Houston. Howard is survived by his wife, two daughters, three sons and sixteen grandchildren." (Uplook 1998-9)

  • John E. Lane, 92, of Waco, TX, passed into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, May 6, 1997. Mr. Lane and his wife, who was called home in 1984, were instrumental in the establishment of Waco Bible Chapel. He was a faithful testimony for 50 years until he drew his last breath. "George Washington Varner III passed away on Thursday October 23, 2014 in Austin, TX. Graveside services Born on May 27, 1927, in Waco, Texas, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend was a decorated veteran of WWII where he proudly served his nation in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Before the war, George attended the Nalley School in Waco where he returned after the war and met and married his sweetheart Evelyn Uptmore in 1947. The Varners primarily raised their three children Greg, Nancy, and Kathy in Waco, TX. A longtime employee of General Motors, George retired in 1987 and was finally able to pursue his academic dream of earning a college degree in Theology from Southeastern Bible College. An avid reader, tinkerer, writer, and builder--George inspired those around him with his wood creations, poetry, and religious writings, and entertained with his kind-hearted wit, talent for whistling, and practical jokes on and off the golf course.

He was an active member of the Waco Bible Chapel, North Richland Hills Bible Chapel, Garland Bible Chapel. and Austin Bible Chapel.
