History

There is presently a French open brethren assembly in Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Québec that was founded in 2009.

This is one of our newest francophone assemblies, replacing an earlier one in nearby Rollet. Until its recent closing for demographic reasons, this latter had been the third oldest in the province, dating from 1942.

The work at Notre-Dame-du-Nord which began in the spring of 2009 had, within a year, become the spiritual home for a handful of believers. More recently, over fifty were in attendance at the several meetings.

Paul Jolin and wife Penny Jane arrived in 2012 to give a helping hand to Gérard Jolin and his wife Angéline. Paul is nephew to Gérard. More recently, Richard Beaulieu with wife Murielle, responsible for French Emmaus Bible Correspondence Courses throughout North America, settled here. All three of these couples have been commended to the work which includes their involvement in the ministry of nearby Camp Joli-B.
