Published from 1943-1954+ in Hutchinson, Kansas, by Richard Edwin Burson.  "The Word" was a monthly (and later bi-monthly) devotional paper sent for $0.50 a year subscription.

1947 Policy

"The Word" is published monthly and is circulated with the hope that it might be used of God in the upbuilding of His people. The paper does not represent any denomination or sect, and is not the official publication of any organization or society. It is simply an attempt to disseminate the truth of God as found in His own precious Word. If you wish to receive it free of cost and have not at any time written to us, you may do so by sending your name and address to the publishers. Please advise promptly of change of address; otherwise copies are lost in the mail.

We shall be glad to send copies to any of your friends who you believe would be interested in "The Word". The magazine is made up almost entirely of reprints. All of the authors quoted stood firmly for the things of God that are being questioned in so many quarters today. Those who have kept the papers for 1947 and who wish to have them bound may send them in to us and we will return them bound. Correspondence is invited on any subject related to spiritual matters.
