History
Assemblée Chrétienne Evangélique, La Pocatiere, Kamouraska, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Southeast Québec, Canada was a French open brethren assembly founded in 1979, and active thru 2007.
Assemblée Chrétienne de La Pocatière was launched in September 1979 under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Cloutier, a radio-announcer who had arrived in La Pocatière two years earlier. Jean-Pierre had come from Sorel where he had become a believer five years earlier. Meetings began in homes before moving on to rented quarters. By 1983, some twenty-five people were gathering in the basement of a business complex where the assembly continued to meet for a half-dozen years.
