1900's

1906

• Wit 1906-12: "Bro. T.D.W. Muir spent a Lord's Day in Rochester, N.Y., on his way home from New York to Detroit. We have been forced to vacate our hall, and have rented another. Our address now is: 95 E. Main St. Communication to Mr. A.S. McKenzie, 103 S. Ford St., Roch., NY."

1910's

1912

• WiS 1912-12: "We had a visit from B. Bradford for a week. The Word of God was good and the Lord's people were helped on in the Lord's ways. Five have recently been baptized and three have been added to the Assembly."

1913

• Wit 1913-3: "Mr. J.H. Burridge gave a series of instructive and helpful addresses in Assembly Hall, 24 Wilder Arcade, Rochester, N.Y. Mr. Maitland, of Central Africa, also gave two addresses which moved many hearts."

• Wit 1913-4: "Mr. Geo. Pinches' visit in Rochester, N.Y., was helpful and refreshing."

• Wit 1913-5: "Mr. Geo. Pinches had a series of helpful meetings in Rochester."

• Wit 1913-6: "A few believers have rented Ebenezer Hall, 223 Andrew's St., Rochester, N.Y., for aggressive Gospel work. Mr. W.J. Donnelly had four weeks' meetings. Good attendances. About a dozen professed."

• Wit 1913-7: "Mr. William Pinches had some helpful meetings in Rochester, N.Y."

• WiS 1913-9: "Brethren Bradford and Dempsey have been having good meetings in the Tent this season."

• Wit 1913-9: "Mr. Archie Payne paid a helpful visit to the little flock at Rochester, giving helpful expositions on 1st John and 1st Peter. Meetings grew in interest till hall was filled."

• Wit 1913-11: "Young men in Rochester assembly are striking out on evangelistic lines. Expect a big draught of fishes."

• Wit 1913-12: "Mr. A. Payne is conducting a series of meetings in St. Paul's Street, Rochester."

1930's

1933

• WiS 1933-2: "R. Roberts had appreciated meetings here. Some of the Lord's people were restored and applied for fellowship. He also had 3 weeks meetings in Holland, N.Y., which were encouraging.

• WiS 1933-3: "Herbert Webber had 4 weeks of well-attended meetings. A number of strangers in nearly every night. Three professed to be saved."

• WiS 1933-4: Excerpts from a memorial tribute to Dr. E.A. Martin from Frost Ave.:

"He will be missed, as only a bulwark can be missed, in these days so like shifting sands: days of changing scenes, changing opinions, changing loyalties. The Christians gathered unto the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ in Rochester, N.Y., have special reason for happy remembrances of our beloved brother. "In a time of Doubt and Distress, his quietness and con­fidence in God became as it were strength and purpose imparted to us. The Frost Avenue Gospel Hall, and the history of the Lord's work in Rochester, just before, and since the hall was built, is pregnant with acts and deeds and prayers of our brother at that time.

Some of the children remember Dr. Martin opening the Sunday School, and one of our young brethren is the first fruits in the New Hall under our brother's ministry, but such ministry was not limited to those who were within the sound of his voice, but the thoughts of his exercise of heart for the spirit­ual welfare of God's people, appeared on the printed pages of "Words in Season," and in this way reached many a shut up, shut in, lonely Christian in little reached corners of the earth."

• WiS 1933-7: "V/m. Pinches had a week of very much appreciated meetings with us. A.R. Crocker also gave us a visit."

• WiS 1933-8: "The correspondent for the assembly here, Geo. W. Lewis, has moved to 441 Selye, Rochester, N.Y. We have had visits recently from Bren. Curry, Smith, Baillie and Reager."

• WiS 1933-11: New York State: "W. Pinches visited York, Rochester and Holland."

1935

• Wit 1935-7:
  • "A. Stewart and C. Patrizio paid appreciated visit to Frost Ave. Gospel Hall. The latter also visited the homes of some Italians, relatives of believers in Vancouver. Mr. Stewart also ministered at special meetings held on Memorial Day, May 30."
  • "Gospel Literature Fund: Started and carried on for the express purpose of helping aged men, widows, workers with limited incomes, earnest young converts, and others with Free Grants of Tracts to distribute in needy districts, country places, hospitals and fairs. A mistaken idea seems to have got abroad that anyone who applies has a right to a parcel. Please note the twofold conditions for consideration: (1) details of kind of work in which applicant is engaged, with note of helpers and church connection; (2) names and addresses of two accredited Elders or well-known Christian workers to whom inquiries can be made. Apart from these, applications are not considered. With Unemployment so rife and the money stringency we have more honest certified distributers, who cannot afford to buy, than we can help, and will value the fellowship of the Lord’s stewards, shut-ins with a heart for the masses, Assemblies, Bible Bands, etc. This Fund is specially in need of replenishing to-day. • • "Hospital Book Fund: For providing copies of the Gospel stories known as The Lily,” copies of the Special Hospital Booklet, entitled “Cheering Words, and other stories, for handing to patients in Hospitals, Infirmaries, the Aged in Almshouses and Unions, and other places, that we feel we must afford our readers an opportunity of thus helping their poor, sick, and less fortunate fellows in something they will read and profit by reading. Now that this Fund has become known patients in hospitals in Britain, Canada. Australia, and other parts are clamouring for something to read, far beyond our ability to supply. This fund is much overdrawn, and pleading notes for help continue to come in. Remember your less fortunate fellows laid aside, with time, and nothing to read. • Wit 1936-11: "J.T. Dickson and Hugh Thorpe paid visit to Frost Ave. Hall. Words of cheer and warning spoken to saved and unsaved."

1937

• Wit 1937-7: "Richard Roberts, of Linlithgow, had a few meetings in Frost Ave. Gospel Hall."

• Wit 1937-11: "Robert Telfer had a week's meetings in Frost Avenue Hall. Christians encouraged. Also gave help in children's meetings. James Smith paid appreciated visit."

• Wit 1937-12: Buffalo: "Chas. Innes paid short visit to Assembly Hall, followed by Dr. Northcote Deck. A soul-stirring time, believers coming from Niagara Falls, Kensington, and Rochester to the meetings."

1938

• WiS 1938-3: New York State: "Chas. Keller had several weeks meetings at York. W.G. Smith also called for a Lord's Day. D. Roy had cheering meetings in Rochester (Frost Ave)."

• Wit 1938-6: Appreciated visits have been paid to Frost Avenue Hall, Rochester, by Geo. M. Spence, Apr. 10 and 11; and Robert Crawford, Apr. 22-24. James Lyttle began meetings May 1."

• Wit 1938-7: "James Lyttle held meetings for believers in Rochester, N.Y., and Erie, Penn. God's people helped. Preached in farming sections in small villages in Northern N.Y. Interested audiences listened to messages over Loud Speaker, many anxious to get John's Gospel, and Tracts. Went over to Glenhead, Long Island, some interest. Was expected at Liberty in June, and to work tent at New Haven, Conn., in July."

1939

• Wit 1939-4: "John Rea visited Niagara Falls, N.Y., also Rochester and Schenectady. Now in Albany."

• WiS 1939-5: "G. Reager called for a night on his way south."

• WiS 1939-6: "After having meetings in York (N.Y.) Albert Klabunda gave us a visit for a few nights. We also had a visit from W.P. Douglas."

• Wit 1939-6: "Wm. Pinches paid appreciated visit to Frost Ave. Hall, Rochester, ere going on to Toronto where he passed away. W.P. Douglas gave helpful ministry during short visit."

• WiS 1939-7: "R. Bruce gave us a few meetings and Thos. Robinson and M. Paul have begun a series of meetings. Visiting Chris­tians will find the hall located at 595 Frost Ave. Frank M. Perrott, 766 Frost Ave., Rochester, N. Y., Correspondent."

• WiS 1939-8: East Aurora, N.Y.: "A one days meeting was held here on the 4th of July. Christians attended from Buffalo, Rochester, Wellsboro, and York, N.Y. W.B. Johnson and local brethren ministered the Word."

1940's

1940

• WiS 1940-3: "James B. McMullen spent a Lords day with the Frost Ave. Assembly in January."

• WiS 1940-5: "Robert McCracken and nephew visited the Frost Ave. Assembly and gave cheering words."

• WiS 1940-7: "W.P. Douglas spent a week with us and while the interest was not large, yet the ministry was interesting and refreshing."

• WiS 1940-11: "J. Pearson visited Rochester and his ministry was cheering and encouraging."

1943

• WiS 1943-2: "The conference held on New Year's Day was enjoyed by all who attended. Christians were present from East Aurora, Buffalo, York, Rochester and Wellsboro, Pa. Goodly words ministered by A. Klabunda, R. Crawford and R. Roberts."
