John Beach (b. 1623 St. Albans, Devon, Eng. - d. 1677 Stratford, CT) emigrated to New Haven, CT in 1643. One of his descendants, Elihu Beach, Jr., was the first child born in Waterbury, CT in 1764, served in the Revolutionary War in 1780, and emigrated in 1811 to Elizabethtown (now Brockville), Leeds, Ontario.

In 1855, another of John's descendants, Joseph Beach, with his wife Clara, emigrated to Township 105 Range 5, Winona County, MN. In 1904, Joseph's son Ira James Beach (b. 1855 Elizabethtown, ON - d. 1934 Seattle, WA) was correspondent for the open brethren Nodine Gospel Hall, MN that met in the New Hartford Town Hall, which is now an antiques shop.

Mary, their daughter Mary Harvey, and their grand-daughter were all indicted in the Salem witch trials in 1692, and sentenced to death, but the sentence was reprieved.

Thomas Twiss was born 1628 in Old Alresford, Hampshire, England, and emigrated to the U.S. prior to 1680 when in Salem, MA, his son Peter married Anne Callum (b. 1659 Lynn, MA).

One of Thomas' descendants, Donald Walter Twiss (b. 1917 Sanilac, MI), was saved on Aug. 1, 1952 under the (OB) ministry of Hector Alves in Deckerville, MI, in which assembly he remained until his death on June 1, 1983. The funeral service was shared by James Beattie & Lawrence Perkins. Donald married Doris Alene Pattullo (b. 1924 Sanilac, MI - d. 2010 Port Huron, MI).

Also in the Deckerville Gospel Hall was Clinton Twiss (b. 1914 - d. 1976) & his wife Jean (1925-1975).  He was in fellowship at Deckerville 1956-1976.  His funeral service conducted by W. Lavery & James Beattie.  Jean was also saved in 1952 under Hector Alves' ministry, and initially in the assembly at Mills.
