She was impressed "with their consecration to the Lord, their knowledge of the Scriptures, and the dignity of their Exclusive serenity", and was soon received into fellowship at the [[Fenton Meeting Room, MO|St. Louis TW assembly].

While on a business trip in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she stayed at a hotel where Bill Morris was working for the summer for the soda fountain, and they were married within a month, and if not saved, he was shortly afterward as he was received quickly into assembly fellowship. Bill & Pat settled in Tulsa after their wedding, and broke bread regularly with a small TW home assembly there, but also met with an open assembly awhile simultaneously in the home of Clayton Cox that became what is now East Tulsa Bible Chapel until the TW assembly leaders changed their schedule to coincide with the opens so the Morris family would have to pick one or the other.

The Morris family relocated at some juncture to Borger, Texas where Bill initially helped develop synthetic rubber for tires during WWII (1943-1945) and they broke bread in their home with the encouragement of a visiting Clifford Henry "C.H." Brown (1884-1975), a respected Bible teacher based at the Buchanan Street Meeting Room in Des Moines, Iowa. While there, Pat and her children regularly shared BTP evangelistic tracts with locals while walking to and from the grocery store, and had occasional visits from traveling brethren.
 +
 +
In 1945, Bill's job transferred him to Akron, Ohio where the family met with an assembly there with seven or eight families, and a couple of widows met in an old grocery store building. Several of the men were executives with the local rubber industry, and there were various meetings throughout the week for prayer, readings, and Gospel. In the summer, there were special open-air meetings conducted at least once a month in various communities involving old and young, as well as regular visits to a welfare farm. There was also a monthly "tea" meeting with a meal, and a regular Brother's Meeting. Harry Hayhoe visited this assembly in Akron frequently, as his daughter and son-in-law resided there. There was also a general conference several summers.
 +
 +
About 1951, the family relocated to Elyria, due to Bill's transferal into plastic R&D, where they started attending the small meeting in Cleveland, and assisted with the start of a meeting in Elyria inspired by an ex-Baptist pastor and some of his former congregants. The Morris family also hosted an assembly in their home in Elyria at some juncture, and many laboring brethren stayed in their home during this time, including John Ruskin Gill. In 1956, Bill was transferred to a company branch in Calvert City, Kentucky and the Morris family relocated to Paducah which is when they took their place at the Columbus meeting. Much of this history is taken from Bud Morris' autobio Fourth Generation.

Morris family

As per Bud's autobio, Pat's father was Baptist, and started attending North End Gospel Hall (OB) in St. Louis when Pat was a teenager after she brought home a Sunday School paper from a neighbor that he first suspected was JW literature until Pat assured him that it was "just what we Baptists believe". After joining the assembly, he soon called it the "Old fashioned Baptist going under a different name".

He remained in fellowship there until his untimely death due to ill health. During a moral controversy at North End, Pat met a couple women with Bible Truth Publishers.

He later returned to Murray State to resume pre-med, then studied medicine in Chicago, in fellowship with the Chicago meeting room. Then was with the meeting in Delavan, Illinois after Bud bought a medical practice from a retiring doctor. Wife: Shirley Erisman Morris. At some juncture, Bud & Shirley started attending a bible study sponsored by an OB assembly in East Peoria where they met Floyd & Helen Pierce, where they eventually joined. Thomas J. Scofield was born in 1830 in Kentucky. In 1850, he was farming in Graves Co., KY which includes Mayfield, and is included in the Paducah CSA. He also served as postmaster (Nov. 1856-1857) for Baltimore, Hickman Co., KY. In 1860, he was farming near Dublin, Hays Twp., Hickman Co., Columbus metro, KY. He may have been a son of Henry C. Scofield (b. 1787 MD) & Caty Williams Scofield (b. 1797 KY). Caty was a daughter of John Williams (d. 1800 Madison Co., KY), and may have married Henry with consent from her grandmother (as she was 17) in 1814 in Garrard Co., KY. In 1830-1840, Henry was farming in Graves Co., KY. In 1810, he resided in Scott Co., KY which is part of the Lexington metro.

From Aug. 31 - Nov. 5, 1813, Henry served as a private with the company of Capt. Matthews Flournoy (1776-1842), of the Kentucky Mounted Volunteer Militia, enlisting at Newport, Campbell Co., KY. This company was commanded by Col. George Trotter, as per a roster of soldiers who fought during the War of 1812 which actually lasted until 1815. Henry may have served in combat in the Battle of the Thames near Chatham, Ontario, Canada.

Relation between this Scofield family and that of Bible teacher Cyrus Ingersoll Scofield (1843-1921) has not been established, as Jefferson's grandfather Henry's ancestry is unknown. However, it is worth noting that Cyrus' earliest American ancestor was Richard Scofield (b. 1613 Rochdale, Lancashire, England - d. 1671 Stamford, Fairfield, CT, having emigrated by 1671.
