As early as 1882, there has been an exclusive brethren assembly in Scranton, Lackawanna Co., Pennsylvania, known to some as the Scranton Meeting Room (TW-EB), as well as a shorter-lived one of the same variety in nearby Moosic +1896-1911+ (Moosic Meeting Room, PA).
Scranton Gospel Hall was an open brethren assembly that may have been a split from the exclusives, founded prior to 1890 when the U.S. Religious Census indicated a PB-II (OB) assembly in Lackawanna Co., with 51 meeting in a rented hall with capacity of 250. In 1904, the assembly met in the Exchange Buildings at 421 Lackawanna Ave., Room #7, then at Washington Hall, S. Main Ave.., by 1922, and the Rescue Mission at 310 N. Washington Ave. +1926-1927+.
At the latter time, the 1926 USCoRB indicated that there were 11 in fellowship (6 men, 5 women) with no S.S. The Hall was a rented facility (with $66 in annual expenses), and $99 was additionally spent towards the Lord's work in 1926.
Manchester Gospel Hall in Hartford Co., Connecticut was a hive from Scranton in 1909 involving the James McCormick, Thomas Eckle and William Emerson families.
