History

This open brethren assembly was founded in Louisville, KY by Karl Pfaff. In 1931, William W. Elder and his wife Sadie Atwill Holt Elder relocated from Matoaca Gospel Hall in Virginia to assist.

In 1964, William Elder's wife Sadie died, and William remarried a spinster from the same assembly in Virginia named Ruth Virginia McEwen, and they remained in fellowship in this assembly for the remainder of their lives.
