Broadview Avenue Gospel Hall was founded in 1891 as an open brethren assembly, meeting initially at 639 Queen St., E. At some juncture, it was meeting at Queen & Boulton. By 1927, it met at 294 Broadview. But there are claims that it has met at 194 Broadview from 1901 to present. In 1899, what is now Danforth Gospel Hall hived from it, known initially as East End Gospel Hall, then East Side Gospel Hall & Swanwick Avenue Gospel Hall prior to its present name. The earliest known correspondent was John Clarke who served in 1927.
