She was born Dorothy Lillian Sherrard to Robert Andrew Sherrard and Elizabeth Anne Houghton Sherrard

Marriage

Dorothy first married Glenn William Baker, a salesman, at an unknown date. Glenn was born Dec. 29, 1924 in Merlin, Ontario, Canada to George Ernest Baker and Hazel Christina Jones Baker.

He made a profession of faith in 1939 at the age of 15, and was in fellowship in Chatham and Detroit. At the age of 28, Glenn died Nov. 17, 1952 in a car accident when another driver crashed into the rear of his car. "He left a good testimony and definite impressions upon the nurses in his last hours", according to an obit in Truth & Tidings.

Dorothy was remarried in 1957 to Robert L. Carter.
