Titus Gustav Engberg was born on Feb. 27, 1886 at Vastmestorp, Falköpings kommun, Västra Götalands län, Sweden, a son of a carpenter named Karl Engberg (b. 1851 Sweden - d. 1917 Galesburg, Knox, IL) & Josefina Larsdotter Engberg (b. 1860 Sweden - d. 1913 Galesburg, IL). Karl & Josefina married in 1883 in Sweden, and emigrated to the U.S. in 1888. By 1900, the family was living in Galesburg, where there was an exclusive assembly 1882-1883+, but records would indicate that Karl & Josefina were lifelong members of the Swedish Evangelical Covenant church, including in Galesburg.

On June 1, 1910, Titus married Edith Wilhelmina Larson (1885-1975 Knoxville, IL), a daughter of John Nels Larson (b. 1843 Vinnerstad, Motala kommun, Östergötlands län, Sweden - d. 1932 Knoxville, IL) & Emma Justina Andersdotter Larson (b. 1854 Sweden - d. 1935 Knoxville, IL), whose family emigrated in 1869 as Evangelical Covenant. In 1910, prior to her wedding, Edith was employed as a public schoolteacher in Knoxville. In 1917, Titus & Edith were living in Galesburg, employed as a grocer for Larson-Hultgren at 808 S. Cedar.

By 1927, Titus was affiliated with the TW exclusives at Knoxville Meeting Room, which continued as an assembly until the early 2010's. He and Edith had three children, their eldest two never married, and their youngest, Barbara, married laboring brother Clarence Edward Lunden. Edith died on Feb. 12, 1975 in Knoxville, Titus followed on Aug. 29, 1977.
