J.W. Bramhall LOI 1934-11
From BrethrenPedia
J.W. Bramhall, Jr., Sumter, South Carolina:
"Your letter of the third forwarded here with loving enclosure of practical fellowship, was received as from our loving Father above. We thank you for this blessed token of our Father’s interest and care for His own.
Had the joy of ministering to the boys in a Christian camp near Asheville for about two weeks, which God greatly blessed to His glory. From there I came down to Biloxi, Miss., upon urgent request, which was of the Lord. The particular field here is in the midst of much so-called modernism and yet the joy of giving out the blessed Gospel has not lost its power. Many dear saints here have been refreshed and encouraged in the Lord.
The Lord has also given us the blessedness of seeing about twelve souls confess Him. The need is very great for the proper spiritual food and we pray the Holy Spirit will encourage the young Christians in the reading of the Word, that they may grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord.
We are now located in Sumter, S.C. seeking to make this place headquarters to work out from in this state that has no scriptural testimony. Most of our time is spent in and around Sumter having Bible classes and prayer meetings in homes, chapels, etc.
The way is also opening to spread the word by tracts. During the past month have distributed over eight thousand tracts at two circuses held here. A group of earnest truth-seeking Christians at Cheraw, S.C. are anxious for our help in the gospel and ministry. They have been praying for years for the Word to be preached in a scriptural way in their town. We trust the Lord to use us to His glory and for their edification."
