Oakland Meeting Room, CA

This is an TW-N exclusive assembly in Oakland, Alameda, California that was started likely between 1889 and 1894, but really started developing by 1911, and continues to this day. In 1889, according to a list of gatherings from that year, F.B. Kinsman resided in Oakland, then relocated to San Francisco by 1894 at which point, J.D. Wangerin settled in Oakland, and served as a correspondent for the assembly thru 1933. Kinsman returned to assist by 1901 and served as another correspondent until 1908, and W.E. Slaker served +1903-1905+, and they were joined in 1905 by Charles D. Mackintosh who was commuting from Fremont, then from Hayward +1911-1914+.

Also in 1911, H.J. Cross was a correspondent of this assembly thru 1933, then R.W. Rule (+1914-1933+). K. Togasaki was based in Oakland in 1923 until 1951, although it appears he resided a short time around 1927 in Fremont and commuted. Many other brethren followed in subsequent years, listed below. It should also be mentioned that there was a Mrs. Elizabeth McIntosh (sic?) who commuted from Hayward in 1927. Others commuted from Santa Clara and other locations over the years.

Kenneth Jones commuted from Fremont to Oakland in 1973, as did Norman E. Albert the same year, although he was residing in Oakland in 1969. There was a TW assembly in Fremont by 1983 that folded in 2021/2022. In 1992 following the Nepean-Perth division in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the Fremont assembly desired not to split all the way, so there was a partial division in the assembly where both groups met in the same location, the TW-N in the morning, and the TW-P in the afternoon but there was a continued relationship between the two.

The Oakland assembly continues to this day, present correspondents unlisted by choice of editor.
